Lopsided

Hi

long story short had 4 months of chemo for TNBC, mastectomy Feb 22 followed by radiotherapy and then more chemo, this time tablets.

I am getting quite depressed about lack of symmetry. My boob is a G so the matching prothesis is massive, uncomfortable and heavy.

Not sure if can face D flap reconstruction yet but can’t carry on like this. One option is reduction of ‘good’ boob to a D cup perhaps. Surgeon did say he’d do a mastectomy on left side and then I’d be flat. Then hsve 2 smaller prothesis. Maybe then reconstruction at a later date.

im exhausted after all the treatment and don’t know what to do or think. Any input be appreciated xx

CT2021 it’s hard to know what to do isn’t it :two_women_holding_hands: you’ve gone through treatment and now your putting puzzle pieces back together I had a therapeutic mammoplasty and at the time I wasn’t bothered about my lopsided boobs but I found the last couple of years difficult and am back on the waiting list to have surgery to level me up. I’m doing it for me and what’s going to make me happy, so do it for you CT2021, do what you will be happy with, I’ve known others have reconstruction and we’re very happy with results, maybe speak to a nurse on here about recovery from that or the other option you’ve mentioned below :two_women_holding_hands: hopefully others will pop on with their experience too which hopefully will help you main thing is you are happy with your decision :two_hearts: :two_hearts: :sparkles: :sparkles: Shi xx

Hello Ct2021,

Sorry to read you’re feeling a bit low at the moment with all you have been through I was wondering if a second opinion may help you however you may be quite happy with the consultation who’s looking after you at the moment or maybe a chat with your breast cancer nurse for a bit more information

Surgery can take such a toll on us, but if the outcome is going to be good and make you feel happy, I’m sure that you will cope we are stronger than we realise. I wishing you well going forward.

biggest hugs brave lady.  Tili :rainbow:
