Lovely thoughts and gestures

Dear ladies

I have just been re-reading the thread “Insensitive or What” and thought it would be a nice idea to start a thread with some of the lovely thoughts and gestures we have received.

Over christmas my younger sister included in my presents - a little jar that was full of paper stars, there was a little card inside that read " Here is a jar full of stars for you, they are for moments when you are feeling down, happy or for just when you want one, they contain thoughts, anecdotes, memories and even some little naughty things written by all your family and friends" It is the most beautiful, thoughtful present I have ever received.

It sits on my bedside table and every now and again usually when I am feeling a bit wobbly I have star - and they do contain some lovely thoughts

Anyway just thought I would share something nice

What a lovely thread and Jackie how thoughtful your sis is. There ARE some wonderful people out there to support us. My sister has really come up trumps since my diagnosis and has been there every step of the way. We are so lucky to have them in our life.

Big hug

Hi Ladies

I am glad you all enjoyed my thread and my lovely star jar - I don’t know where she got the idea from but I am glad she did - thank you ladies

When I was diagnosed my 8 year daughter made a little box and wrapped it up very carefully, insisde the box were the words “I love you” she made it small for me to carry in my handbag so I always had her love with me.

I thought it was a beautiful gesture especially for her age.

When I got sick, and I had to leave for the hospital for my mastectomy, I had to cancel a much awaited vacation with my little girl - 11 yrs old. The day I checked in the hospital, she gave me a special letter, to take with me and to read only once there in my bed… :)) the sweetest love letter I have ever had - and that I will ever receive.

Our children know how to reach out to us. There is a special bond there, that is stronger than illness.

Ahh Debbie and Lillth - I am wiping the tears away. xxx
