My blood test result indicates that I’m slightly low in BUN, protein and albumin. I did a bit research and found that it could be an indication of kidney problems.
I was a bit worried that it could be caused by treatment. Spoke to nurse about it, but she said that it’s normal for a person of my size, adding that the figures are quite normal for a teenager/child!! I know I’m smaller and younger, but definately not a teenager or a child!! However, she did say I should discuss this further with my onc if I’m still worried about it, which I’ll definately do.
Anyone had something similar and was told something different?
Hi there, I can’t really help but I had low ish potassium levels a couple of months ago and adding just a couple of potassium rich foods to my daily diet really did make a difference and the levels are now normal…don’t know if adding protein rich foods might work in this instance? Hope the Onc can reassure you all is well.
Take Care…xx
I don’t know if this is particularly the right place to post this, but it seems as good as anywhere! M1yu, hope your protein levels are sorted out now, that your scan results are good - and looking forward to meeting you on Friday!
My last blood results were nearly all normal, the tumour markers have come down again this month from 25 to 21 and I’m feeling generally ok on the whole. My GP mentioned that my albumin is slightly low - it’s 34 which is only just under the ‘normal’ level of 35 to 50. He didn’t seem bothered and told me that last November it was 31 so something is obviously improving.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of low-ish albumin levels and what, if anything, can be done - am assuming from the general lack of panic from the medics that this is nothing to worry too much about at this stage, but would like to right it if I can.
