Lump in Left Breast

Hi there,
I had a total duct excision on my left breast in Nov 2022.
I have now found a small pea sized lump near my aureole in the same breast. I’m assuming it can’t be a papilloma again as I had the TDE. Is this correct?
I was wondering if this could be scar tissue although I haven’t felt it before and was going to leave it for a couple of weeks to see if anything changes. Is this advisable?
Many thanks for any advice xx

Hi @kelsey74

Sorry that you have found this lump and I know the nurses will be able to reply tomorrow.

You should have open access to your breast care team and if it was me I would give them a call and get them to check it out. You may have to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment, if the lump has disappeared then most you need to do is cancel the appointment. If it’s still there it will be checked.

Take care and I hope it’s nothing to worry about. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hi kelsey74

Thanks for your post.

Breast changes can happen for many reasons. Most are due to benign conditions including scarring or fat necrosis. It’s important to be sure though and as @naughty_boob says its best to have this checked.

You may not be having follow up after your surgery for an intraductal papilloma so do speak to your GP so they can refer you back to the breast clinic if necessary.

Do call our helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions. The helpline team have time to listen, talk things through and signpost you to additional support and information if necessary. Your call will be confidential, and the number is free from UK landlines and all mobile networks. The number is 0808 800 6000, (Relay UK -prefix 18001).

If you would prefer one of our nurses to call you. Please complete this form ticking the box agreeing to a call back.

Our usual opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 4pm and 9am -1pm on Saturday.

Out of hours you can leave a message and we will call you back when we next open.

Best wishes
