hello all. im wanting some advice. i have been to the gp six weeks ago about bumpy painful breasts, he wasnt overly concerned however told me to come back in six weeks, which i did yesterday. Symptoms- it feels like a hardish tubular type lumpy area on my right breast. not painful, no discharge or other external signs, ive had this lump a while. i went yesterday and he said that it didnt feel like anything sinister but discussed that there was a small chance as with any lump that it could be cancer. was going to refer me to breast clinic, they phoned me this morning with my appointment- 16th just over 2 weeks away. now i am so scared and worried, would a gp have said that he didnt feel like anything sinister if he thought there was? also has anyone else had similar things? i keep bursting into tears as i am 33 with two boys. please reply im driving myself mad and cant eat i am that worried.

Hi Gemma,
So sorry to hear you are having this worry right now. I know I’m much older than you (61 at diagnosis, 63 now) but even though I was in the ‘right’ age bracket for BC, myself and my GP didn’t think my lump was anything worrying, but she referred me anyway. GPs don’t have the expertise to tell you whether they think you might have BC or not, but they will refer most patients to err on the side of caution. The time until your appointment will seem to be the worst time you have ever had, so try to fill your time with positive experiences. Read posts on here that are reassuring. There is a thread on here:
forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/t5/Benign-breast-conditions/bd-p/4430
all about benign (non cancerous lumps and conditions of the breast) that might put your mind at rest. Please come back often to post, ask questions, and most of all, to let us know how you get on when you have your appointment.
Sending hugs and best wishes.

Hi Gemmaboo
Just to second Poemsgalore, loads of non bc innocent reasons for lumps but best to get checked out. Hopefully just doc doing their job. Natural to worry a bit but try not to worry too much. And consider taking a friend with you if you are fretting.

hi
ALL CLEAR
nothing sinister at all, think the ultrasound nurse was a bit sad there was nothing to biopsy lol, just healthy lumpy boobies, apparently i dont have much fat in my boobs … its all in my arse and tummy lol so all the lumps i can feel are my glands, this experience has made me reevaluate alot in my life and looking forward to the future.
good look to all those going through this stressful experience, big love to all thanks for support xxxxx
