Hi. I had a lumpectomy on my right breast and some lymph node removal. A drain was put in as well. Surgery was Friday. I had a hard time with the anesthesia. I came out dizzy, and nauseous. I threw up all the way home. Its 3 days later and while im not in pain I get faint and whoozy mid day. Im only on Ibuprofen and a antibiotic. I have something for nausea as well. Is it normal to feel this faint this many days later? When should I worry?

Hi anya1
Thanks for posting.
It’s understandable that you want to know if how you are feeling is a normal part of your post operative recovery.
It’s common to experience nausea after an operation and some people can continue to feel faint and dizzy in the days after having an anaesthetic. If you are continuing to feel faint it’s important to contact your breast care nurse, treatment team or GP to let them know so that they can assess you.
Our booklet Your operation and recovery has further information that you may find helpful.
Talking to someone who has had a similar experience can often be helpful. Our Someone Like Me service can match you with a trained volunteer who’s had a similar experience to you. You can be in touch with your volunteer by phone or email and they can share their personal experiences to answer your questions, offer support or simply listen to how you are feeling.
You can ring the Someone Like Me team on 0800 138 6551 or email them at someone.likeme@breastcancernow.org, so they can then match you to your volunteer.
