Lymph node scar

I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy over a year ago. The lymph node scar has been sore for a couple of weeks and has a couple of red spots on it. Is this normal? I had my 1st annual mammogram in June and all was ok. Many thanks

Hi pinkie1

Thanks for posting.

After surgery for breast cancer people often experience some ongoing side effects. However, it sounds as though these are recent changes you have noticed in the scar area under your arm.

It’s good to read that your mammogram in June was ok, but it would be a good idea to contact your treatment team or breast care nurse if you are still in contact with them for the area to be assessed. If you have been discharged from their care your GP can refer you back to them
