Lymphnode biopsy problem.??

Hi ladies,

I am over 2 weeks past my biopsy…and I am still concerned about the wound.

It is raised, it’s red, it looks bruised… And it’s a bit uncomfortable…

It was leaking, until Friday… I got anti biotics at the gp’s… He had no idea what the fluid was…
The breast nurse at my clinic looked at it and said… Mmmm it looked so clear when we took the dressing off, I wonder what happened??
My breast nurse at the plastic surgery and the plastic surgeon looked at it… They explained it’s not unusual, the fluid will find another rout… And they took a swab… Advised I try and leave it uncovered…but since it’s been uncovered it’s stopped leaking…great… But its getting redder…

I’m not sure if it’s infected as I am taking anti biotics., and have no other symptoms…

Could it just be the rubbing of my clothing/ arm irritating it?

Confused as usual and don’t like making a fuss, especially when no one-else is bothered lol.

So what do you think?

mine was very similar to this although it never leaked it was raised by a good have inch and very tender and red. the surgeon said it was a collection of fluid under the scar and the body would absorb it. i know it sounds daft but i stuck sanitary pads on the inside of my bra and just over the top so the scar was padded and i found that helped but if you have any doubts get them to check again x x

That sounds Perfect amylou… That’s what I’ve been told and I think it’s the rubbing that’s caused the irritation… So a wee sanitary towel… Strategically placed could do the trick… Lol.
