Just come on here to say that lymphodema and hot weather are a miserable combination. I thought we might be able to offer advice, here are mine:
Spraying my sleeves with a fine water spray.
Carrying a hand held fan.
Drinking plenty.
I’m going to try and put a sleeve in the fridge and see how if it helps.
I also left work early to avoid rush hour.

Great advice Rattles…
I’m too grumpy to offer good advice! So all I can say is…
I’m moving into Sainsburys for the rest of the Summer ? Glorious Air Con
Like you Nanny Sal I am too grumpy to offer advice and also have just had a bed put up in Sainsburys for summer!! Feel a bit like a vampire the chemo and sun are not a good mix so just come out when sun goes in - mind you I purchased a factor 50 - something i have never had in all my life - I love the sun and spend a lot of time outside normally so just trying to work out what is reasonable - i guess applying a bit of commonsense is a good start!!
Hey Joyce and Nanny Sal,
Sorry to hear the heat is making you grumpy though to be honest lots of people are grumpy in this heat and they don’t even have lymphodema!
I’ve got blisters between my fingers as my hand has got too swollen for my sleeve and rubbed but I am using siltape.
Put a wet flannel in the fridge. It’s deliciously cold and refreshing!
Rattles, x
PS like the idea of moving into Sainsburys!
Hi Lottie
Nice to hear you were able to go sleeveless to the Sports Day. Oh to go sleeveless! My hand fills too quickly to do this but I do let myself take my sleeve off and elevate it in the evening as a special treat?
