Hi, new to this group. I wonder if someone can advise me? I have a painful thumb for no reason I can fathom. It was very bruised at first round the pad and round to the nail. Now it is less bruised but there is a solid lump on the pad, very sensitive and I cannot hold a fork or a pen. Should I be worried or am I just being paranoid. Can you get lymphodema in a thumb?
Hi Babz, as far as I am aware, the short answer is no. It was explained to me that Lymphodema would occur through the whole arm, shoulder to wrist. The arm will feel very heavy as it is filled with fluid.
It may be you have some residual effect from chemo or rads . This is the disease that just keeps on giving. Best get it checked out though for peace of mind. Us girls have enough to worry about! X
