lymphoedema and broken wrist

Hi
i broke my left wrist early January, the break was very bad and had to bw wired then plastered. The problem is that 9 years ago i had breast cancer and full lymph node clearance on the left side. The pain i have experienced has been unbearable and only just starting to settle a little now. I have been back and forward to the hospital but only been told to keep the arm up which is swelled. Also taking codeine 30mg 2x4 a day and paracetamol,
Has anyone had this problem and did your healing time take longer

I had breast cancer nearly 4 yrs ago now,I have just broken my wrist on the same side, my arm is very sore, so sore I took the cast off myself then went back to hosp to get another one on,which is looser, but it,s still very sore, my lymph nodes are swelling, have been to doc he said it was probably due to my wrist but going to the specialist just to make sure, nurse also said to keep on resting it and take pain killers, lorna xxxx
