Brilliant news - hope you find out what sort of chemo you need soon. Presumably, you are waiting for the full path results - I hate waiting for results!!!
Hope all the ops go well
Kate

oh Kelly, i;m really lucky and i really did expect the worst, and i know its still going to be a long road, but its given me so much hope that i really didn’t have before, you know, for the first time since i had the lymphs out i’m going to have a soak in the bath and really relax.

love Alison

Hi Kate, won’t get anymore results now till after my op on friday, so hoping its not too bad, but whatever, i feel more able to cope now. its awful having this, but god i really am doing my best to enjoy my life with my family, i just want to be happy and to get better

lots of love

Alison

Alison,

its so great to hear good news.

just a suggestion - when you go for a long soak in the bath take a glass of wine with you - yummy - you deserve it

Hi Alison,
thats fantastic news- am really please for you.
Are they reconstructing you straight away at the same time as your operation? I am due for a mastectomy in about 5 weeks time having had the chemo first and some people have to wait for a reconstruction and some get it immediately- do you know why?
I am trying to second guess what they will do with me.
Congratulations on your good news

How was that soak? Hiya alison,

how was that soak in the bath you promised yourself? I hope you had a nice glass of wine or 2 while you were soaking!

Really sorry if my message to you yesterday sounded a bit bitter, it wasn’t meant to. I’m really pleased that there is good news to be had for us and just not bad news,

Take care,

Kelly

Hi to Kelly and the rest of you, yes i had a few glasses of wine, very nice, and kelly, i really didn’t think you sounded bitter at all, you’ve been through a lot more than i have, i’ve just been lucky i think.

lots of love

alison

Hi Katy, yes i am having the recon done at the same time, its the back flap that i’m having done, due to having little boobs and a lumpectomy not being suitable due to where the tumour is. i should think your having chemo first to shrink the lump, have they already removed some lymphs? if i had tested positive with the lymphs then i would have had to have a silicone implant in first, then rads, then i would have had the back flap done then chemo, luckily the lymphs were negative and they can’t perform rads on the back flap as it would shrink it, thats the reason why some women have the recon later i think, have you used the “ask the nurse” email service? they should be able to tell you better, or just ask your breast care nurse, she should know why you might have to wait

love and hugs

Alison

Hi Alison,

Have just taken your advice and used the ask the nurse email. I will let all know on the reply.

I havent had lymph nodes tested yet, but from feeling and using the ultrasound, they are pretty certain (if thay can be?) that its not in my lymphs so really not sure whats happening yet. I have requested a double mastectomy and will need to discuss my options with the surgeon whom I am awaiting an appointment for- I’ve not been told that I definitely need rads yet- My onc said he would talk to me about it after I have seen surgeon so who knows?

Its so confusing cos everyone has such different treatment so you cannot really compare yourself to anyone else.

I hit the bottle last night and smoked way too much so suffering a bit today-also have last chemo. I have real trouble with them getting veins and the flow of blood and the nurse told me when she took my blood tests that alchohol thins the blood thus making the flow better- I sort of took that as a green light to binge! Ha!

Thanks for your reply and heres hoping all goes well with you
take care
Katyx
