Lynni

Apologies if this has been posted somewhere else already, but I’ve just come back from holiday to hear the sad news that Lynni died a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to pay my respects. Her funeral was last wed.

Lynne had various secondary issues and a return of spread to the stomach towards the end of last year. She had one cycle of docetaxol (taxotere) but had an allergic reaction to it. She then tried Carboplatin at the beginning of January but she wasn’t strong enough to tolerate it as she could not keep down any food. The cancer then spread to Lynne’s spinal cord, which is apparently the point when the doctors told them that nothing more could be done to save her.

Lynne was moved to the Marie Curie Hospice in Newcastle, where they kept her comfortable and with morphine for the pain until she died. It sounds as though she deteriorated very quickly, as she was posting here up until at least 31st December.

I met Lynne through these forums and although we only met face to face a few times I did regard her as a friend who I shall miss.

This is such a shitty disease and I feel so sorry for her family.

Another very sad loss - irreplaceable to her family and friends. Lynne contacted me a few times when I ventured on to the forums on the early days and was so helpful and supportive. x

Oh I’m so sad to read this news. Lynne had exchanged some PM’s with me in December and I’ve been looking out for any posts from her.
Rest in Peace Lynne, my sincere condolences to your dear family. xx
Thank you letting us know Alison…xx
