I had a MX with imediate LD flap recon and node removal. I had no sign of lymphoedemia for 6 years untill I had an oopherectomy in july. so had to have all the scans in case cancer was back it isn’t so am off to lymphoedemia clinic tomorrow. It is not bad at the moment because I had an op last week , an LD flap repair, so have had lots of rest but this is not normal so am expecting it to come back big style once I am back to normal and busy working

That’s really bad luck you getting Lymphoedema after all that time. At least you can be relieved that the cancer is not back.
Try to keep doing your arm excersize if it is possible after your latest op. I am sure that you will get lots of support from your LD clinic.

I saw a lymphoedema specialist yesterday (I dont have it) but she said you could get lymphoedema at any point … weeks, months, years later … and who knows what triggers it. It’s not the end of the world though … and as emmbee says, at least the cancer isn’t back. Sending love x

went LD clinic today, saw a nurse for 1 1/2 hours. She was very good and showed me all the massage and has got me some compression sleeves to wear.
