Hi There.

 

Did any of you apply and receive a Macmillan Grant?  If so, what did you use the money for??

 

I am filling out my claim form on wednesday and the Nurse said I must have decided what I want the grant for by the time I go and see her.

 

Now, i never intended on using the money for bills etc but I was hoping to put it away for a treat sometime in the next couple of months but it seems you have to have a cancer based reason.

 

I was just wondering what you used yours for, if you applied for it?

Hi Shazmos

I had a Macmillan Grant in September. I asked for £100 towards travelling expenses to and from hospital for radiotherapy and was awarded £80. The money was sent in a cheque which I paid into my bank. Although it was given for travel expenses, I used it to treat me and my OH to a nice meal out. Hope this helps x
