Magseed placement

I have an appointment to have a Magseed placement next week. Can I drive myself home after the appointment or should I get someone else to help?

It is possible this information is in the appointment letter, but that was lost in the post. This appointment was made via telephone and I didn’t think until afterwards to check about driving.

Hi scientistamafier

Thank you for posting.

There are no indications to say  you’d be unable to drive following the placement of your Magseed. Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area before the Magseed which may cause some stinging, and some people report some pressure as the seed is inserted but most people don’t  experience any pain.

The DVLA advises that you can drive before and after surgery that is carried out under local anaesthetic, if you are safely able to control the vehicle. As you suggest, specific instructions from your treatment team may been included in your appointment letter, so we would always suggest you check with them to make sure if they have any guidelines in regards to driving.
