Major Melt down I need help!

where do I find a psycologist who can understand all the cr…p that’s going on in my head!

Hi HueyL

It might help to give our Helpline a call to talk about how you’re feeling at the moment.  They’ll be open at 9.00am today. (9-5 on weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays).  The number is 0808 800 6000

Very best wishes

Huey lovely, please give your BCN a call or ring the BCC helpline, or get in touch with your GP.

Failing that, look up private psychologists in your area bps.org.uk/psychology-public/find-psychologist/find-psychologist

Do you want to tell us what is going on for you right now? x

Huey, you might find that many of us have the same c**p - or very similar - going on in our heads! I know this realisation helped me a lot. It’s good to talk about it, but if you feel you can’t share on here, do give the helpline a call, or Macmillan. They both helped me a lot too. Your BCN will be able to put you in touch with a councelor who specialises in cancer patients.

I hope you get some help soon.

Hey Huey, i am a strong ,decisive ,confident, in charge sort of person and I too had a bit of a melt down.

Protecting my 3 sons, my elderly parents and my 50+  colleagues who are all my close friends was the hardest thing ive done. My local cancer support centre were invaluable and so were the free therapies they gave me ( stuff i have always been really cynical of). It took all my strenth to ask for help especially as I cried at the most innappropriate times. I still do and get cross with myself…messed up or what? but  no one sees. That is why I came on here to here from people like you that this is normal for what we are going through. Please look up your local cancer support centre…you will not be sorry xxxxxxxxxx

Some lovely comments to help you

Chemo is designed to interfere with your brain a lot - well documented
Some pain killers can interfere too
And then there is the actual drama of not being well and coping with people’s reactions.
