Hi all, I’m a 39yo man, and just discovered a lump in my right chest after a week of a painful nipple. Have been referred to breast clinic by the GP so just awaiting that. I am absolutely bricking it tho. What should I expect at the clinic? Any advice?
Hi Pies
No wonder you’re bricking it…it’s a scary time and a whole new world! ?
I’m assuming the process will be more or less the same for a man… apart from having a mammogram of course!
When I was recalled to the breast clinic I had another mammogram then the Doctor examined my breast, I had an ultra sound on my breast and under my arm… biopsies were taken from my lump and from my lymph nodes -I had a local anaesthetic for my breast biopsy but the lymph node biopsy was a bit like having blood taken…not really painful! I was then given an appointment to go back a week later for the results! ?
Your appt should come through pretty quickly, altho i do appreciate that the waiting could drive you mad!
Everything is crossed that things work out okay for you! ?
