Hi Alison
Lovely to hear from you and glad the op went OK.
I have just had a round of scans and all great news. Significant response to chem in bones and liver and no sighns anywhere else. Phew. We have even started talking to surgeon about a reconstruction etc.
Wedding was good and little girl gtreat.
Am enjoying taking Tommy to school and just the simple things in life. Although I did go to work yesterday to discuss staring my phased return. This is quite exciting as I may finally get a job that considers what I want to do.
In meantime looking forward to the school nativity and some seriuos Xmas shopping.
Hope you all well and you got the seroma etc sorted.
Fantastic news re your scans. The results you’ve been waiting for after all you’ve been through. I bet your Mum’s smiling down on you.
It sounds like everything is falling into place for you at last and you can start to move forward.
Luckily a second seroma did not develop - think the body reabsorbs the fluid if there’s not too much. That was a relief as I found the draining of the last one quite unpleasant - ouch & yuk at the same time.
Pain is much improved - still get the worst of it in bed but it’s all but gone really. Can now reach the top of the door frame with my bad arm (those flippin arm exercises!!!) and have managed to get the hoover round and do a bit of cooking etc. Feel like I’m getting towards some sort of normal. Although not being able to drive is sending me a bit potty.
Can’t get excited about Xmas yet - more frightened by it than anything. Will end up panic buying as usual.
Hope you are well and NOT doing too much hoovering
I can look forward to Xmas as we are going to my brothers and I intend to do the minimum necessary - said I`d buy snacks and sweets. So I can just enjoy the kids and go with the flow
OH just been to tesco to buy new school t-shirts, but they didnt have any right size, so now we have to do some washing for tomorrow !
Just wanted to check in with you. Hope you are feeling OK and not working too hard!
I’ve just come out of hospital after a wk long stay - nightmare. My new friend swelled up like Jordan. Had a stack of fluid removed from my back wound but still v swollen. On high dose antibiotics and gotta go back tues. Just gotta hope it settles down & no infection develops. When it swelled up though I lost all reach in my arm - can’t get it over my head now so STILL can’t drive. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Got xmas do wth my brothers next week but going to chicken out & have a take away. I really can’t be doing with it all. But then I have an excuse!
Hope you doing well. Any news on your recon yet? what treatment are you having now?
You have an excuse and a half - must be really annoying not being able to drive etc.
Postponed my reco appointment as there was a worry I might have a recurrence. Had 3 small lumps removed, reults next week. Also repeat lung CT scan and blood test.
Actual physical wise I feel great so this is a bit out of the blue - we hope it is just a scare etc.
We are going to my brothers for Xmas and I plan to do as litle as possible ! OHs family do is in Jan, so we are just coasting along for a few weeks enjoying school xmas fayres etc.
Hope your arm can support a glass and open the take away lids
