Hi ladies, I was here last September after finding lumpiness in my breast, I went to an appointment in my breast clinic and was told a had symmetrical lumpiness in each breast and would get an appointment for a mammogram “in a few weeks”, I’m finally going for the mammogram tomorrow as my appointment card only came through last week! I’m in the Republic of Ireland and am scared stiff now at the thoughts of it and hoping it wasn’t left to long. Both the nurse and specialist who examined me at the time were through in their examinations and I thought I’d get an ultrasound/ mammogram on the day but they just sent me on my way… anyone experience anything like this before? Sorry this is so long winded but I’m just in from work and my anxiety for tomorrow is in overdrive now.
That sounds disgusting, treating you like that, I thought my local hospital could have waiting lists. I do hope everything went well with the mammogram / I was told 5yr ago that I too had lumpy breast syndrome. im still unfortunately getting changes and on my 5 mammogram and ultra sound on the 22/06/18. ultrasound. Best regards carol
Thanks Carol, unfortunately the National health (HSE) waiting list here in Ireland is ridiculous. The mammogram went well, uncomfortable but not as painful as I was anticipating. The 2 week wait for my results are now playing on my mind, was told by the radiographer to ring my doctor in 2 weeks for my results so over another week to wait, worrying myself into a state at times over it.
