I have a mammogram booked tomorrow as I have a 20mm lump felt by GP and clinician. I thought the ultrasound would happen on the same day but its booked in for another 10 days time. Is this usual?
I’m also wondering how much I will know after the mammogram.
The waiting is tough, I really hoped it would all happen together. Thank you x
Hello and welcome. Sorry you find yourself here.
They can definitely tell some things just from mammograms you can ask on the day but it’s likely the images will be reported on later and guide your ultrasound. I’ve usually found the radiographers that do the ultrasound will share what they see.
