Mammogram injury

I am a husband in the same place a Keith, paddyfla, and looking for advice. My wife experienced similar pain after a second mammogram in September of 2023. We have seen most every type of doctor and just finally got it a johns hopkins. The only one that has given her relief is the chiropractor but it only last for a few days. Most of the other doctors discredit the chiropractor and just want to give drugs. We believe it is a rib that “moves” or rib connective tissue, and irritates a nerve that gives her pain to a level of 8/10, heaviness on chest and now numbness in tongue and down the arm. Its like we need to keep things “in place” after the chiropractor. I am very interested in Keiths outcome and some advice from similar situations like chefgirl1226. Is there a way to tag or reach out to others that have posted.

Dear Balj

Thank you for contacting Breast Cancer Now about the rib pain your wife has been experiencing.

We are a national organisation providing information and support to anyone living in the UK. The information and support we offer is based on what happens in the UK. You mention that your wife is going to be seen at John Hopkins which suggests you are based in the US.

The posts you refer to from @paddyfla and @chefgirl1226 came from a forum discussion in 2018 and it may not be possible to reach out to these users at this time as they may no longer be active.

It is understandable that you are concerned about the symptoms your wife is experiencing. They can happen for many reasons and your questions about this are best answered by the medical team who will assess her symptoms and investigate the cause as appropriate.

If you live in the USA: The National Cancer Institute and Breastcancer.org are organisation which may be helpful for you and your wife. The American Cancer Society has a national helpline.

Kind regards

Julie
