mammogram - one year on

Hi there

Can anybody reasure me, I have today received my appointment for tomorrow morning to attend my first mammogram since diagnosis, mastectomy and chemo, radiotherapy.

I am on tamoxifen but the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing twinges in my good breast, I am now really anxious and fearing the worse, as any body experienced breast discomfort in this way, all replies would be appreciated

Yes, the first mammogram after treatment is a bit scary, but I have had two now and admittedly it still hurts (someone once remarked it was like having your boob run over by a ten-ton truck!) but it is the same as usual. The fact that you’ve been having twinges is probably normal twinges connected to your menstrual cycle.

Best wishes,
