Hi
I have just had a recall from my recent mammogram appointment which was around three weeks ago. To say I am shocked is an understatement as my two previous ones have been all clear. I have yearly screens because both my sister and my mum have had BC. My sister being only 38 at the time. The letter says they need to take additional images so I am back there on the 13th September. They did try and fit me in earlier (6th Sep) but I am in hospital to have my gall bladder out in two days. An appointment in three days time sounds very sinister and I am extremely worried.

Hello and welcome. Obviously it is a worrying time for you especially with the family history, however it is possible that they need to take more images because the ones they have are not clear and they want to be sure, which is a good thing, the fact that they are doing them yearly IF there is anything then it will very likely be at an early stage and still does not mean that it will be cancerous as there are lots of benign conditions it could be.
I would not worry about how quickly they have offered you an appointment, it is likely that they have had cancellations and are able to fit you in which again is good because it means you would not have had too long to wait
Good luck with the gall bladder op and let us know how you get on at the breast clinic.

Thanks for the words of support. I was there when my sister and my mum was diagnosed and the process they went through was the same as I am now so I can’t help but think the worst. Thankfully they are both ok. I will update the forum when I have been. Lisa
