Had to have one this afternoon, that’s the second since I was diagnosed in 2006. It doesn’t get any better does it - didn’t sleep at all well last night so I didn’t go to my regular yoga class this morning. I had to have an extra 2 pictures taken on the left side as the Consultant Radiographer wasn’t happy with the images, so that made me wonder as well. I shouldn’t be panicking, the same thing happened last year as my lumpectomy scar is in an awkward spot. Still, it makes you think, especially as I saw the radiographer talking to the Consultants on the way out. My OH said to me “that’s because they are doing their job”.
I don’t get the results until 5th December. I’m down for a review appointment with one of the Registrars at a much quieter clinic because they are not expecting anything to show up, meaning I don’t have to see the surgeon. The last time I saw him was after he removed my lymph nodes in 2006 so I suppose I should be pleased.
Hi Cherub,
Im feeling like you…similar to you as diagnosed Oct 2006. My hospital cocked up with 2 year appt…I tried to phone and arrange mammo prior to appt with Consultant, as normal. Staff very unhelpful (i was looking forward to it as very clear in my mind was Cons saying getting to 2 years was good!!! With the proviso of getting to 5 years BETTER!!), anyway he “pulled in a favour” and i got the elusive mammo 2 weeks ago, and now have to wait until he writes me a “line”…Do these Consultants not recognise the stress waiting causes…especially as at the dx clinic i went from being a little concerned to cancer in an hour!!
I went to gp today and was put on Citalopram, as have been very down since oophrectomy in July…think all the psychologial things have suddenly knocked me down!
the wait, the wait, the anxiety!! Hope my happy pills work!
I always have my mammo privately. It costs £161 and the consultant radiologist gives the results in about 15minutes.I have an appt with my surgeon an hour later[£60] and he does ‘poke and grope’ and chats about things.I had my 2 year one last week.NED thank goodness!
