My wife shaved my hair today and I took your advise and put my make up on, glad I did! It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be actually and feel better then my hair just falling out and getting bald patches! Taking control felt good!
I had the injections too, only after the 5th one did I get some bone aches but the rest of the time was ok and I took them at about 7pm x
You know the worst part for me was before I started chemo, mentally I wasnāt in the best place but not too bad, I wasnāt sleeping so well with the worry of the unknown like you say, with all the appointments and the scans etc, very worrying but once you start chemo, you start to have a purpose and a way forwardā¦ā¦ I had a feeling I would lose control of my body being on chemo, I didnāt want that at all, but itās the complete oppositeā¦ā¦ you have to take control! with what you eat, by drinking loads of water or whatever you can tolerate, walking or exercising as much as you can to help with energy, getting enough sleep and rest, so much can be done to help yourself through this. I wake up the same time and go to bet same time everyday, which helps loadsā¦ā¦ I get up and dressed, put on my wig, earrings or whatever else makes me happy and start my day.
Not everyone is going to have the same journey, by all meansā¦ā¦ and what works for someone wonāt work for someone elseā¦ā¦ and you have to be so careful with infections etc, you have to take care of yourself and your body and mind.
I just thought Iād put it out there, to keep calm and carry onā¦ā¦ itās not as bad as you think!!
I only have to have one, the day after chemo, keep it in fridge, and I just get my Mum to put it into my stomach, really quick and painless. I havenāt had any aches or pains from it but Iāve heard others have??? Hopefully youāll be fine! how many do you have to have?
Just to share. Thanks for the tip this Polybalm is amazing! My big toe nails had gone mostly black - one fully recovered and the other 90% recovered. No issues with finger nails beyond a little more brittle
Hello@feck thank you for asking.
I talked to many cancer survivors and had a good advices and I am still waiting for date to start chemotherapy itās taking too long maybe will start in April now.
I went to GP about my lump late January is that normal as I know mine is aggressive?
@feck youāre so kind to remember. I actually have my appointment this afternoon. I really hope they have the score so we can make a decision. The waiting and anxiety of the unknown is grinding me down. Iām prepared for the worst (I think weāre all well trained in that approach now) but weāll see. Thanks for asking xx
Ive got 7 of the buggers, I have an appointment with breast care nurse this morning, I had been getting pain on my opposite boob (though not felt anything for several days now) going to mention the 5 day jab.
Glad some progress being made. I think different diagnoses mean slightly different journeys. Please try the BCNs on here who will hopefully be able to advise you. @Shi do you have any info please? Keep pushing for when treatment can start.
Feck you did right to point to Breast Care Nurses either their own at their trust or the Brradt Care nurses on here who can be reached in ask the nurse section on the forum or by calling the number on here Shi xx
I will have my chemotherapy first then surgery.
They just called me they said my first round will be 27th this month and I am scared lot to expect lot to worry about.
I wished I will be able to spend Eid with family not in bed and I have my driving test on the first of April.
Do you think I will be ok or will be hard to do it, I am being waiting for 6 months to do it ?
Iām starting chemo tomorrow. But in relation to the driving test I would keep it as itās so hard to get a test date. Weāve recently done this for my son. Hopefully youāll be ok and will be able to enjoy Eid and you will pass your driving test! Take care and hope you have a smooth chemo journey xx
