Hey all! My screen has been completely smashed since last week so I’ve not been able to check in on here!!
I’ve done with EC and had my 1st docetaxel yesterday, all went well and cold cap was much less time afterwards only 20 mins compare to 90 mins with EC!! 2 more to go but so far so good.
I was a little flushed this morning, does anybody know which are the best gentle face creams for taxel skin? Preferably a clean one but as long as it’s gentle!
I feel much better than I did on EC today, no nausea and haven’t needed anti sickness but I do still have a little steroid buzz so hopefully I don’t completely crash tomorrow
Hope you’re all doing OK

Haven’t started on Docetaxal yet so good to hear everyone’s tips. I’m using Polybalm so good to hear of positive responses. I’ve also started to use La Roche Posay Cicaplast and my face is drinking it in.
Did anyone try compression socks to help with any neuropathy?

I did the compression socks although I’m not sure they were tight enough and ice mitts and socks too. The nurse yesterday said some people use nitrile gloves to compress their hands too so mi might give that a go!
Oh I’ll have a look at the la Roche posay one, does it feel quite gentle?
I read that the UV light can effect nails too on docetaxel so I got a silicon manicure set from MeMe cosmetics and then use the polybalm around my cuticles!
Xxx

I’ve found it nice on my skin - it’s developed with people having chemo in mind and currently has 20%off !
Thanks for the other tips - I don’t know how you managed cold feet and a cold head ! Kudos xxx

@katie91 i used Aveeno oat calm and restore moisturiser throughout my 12 paclitaxels (they also do a night version); Boots have £4 off if you spend £20. I’ve found it very good for my super dry face.m and scalp.

I started on Docetaxel today, I was very sleepy during the infusion and had a three hour nap when I got home
also not having any nausea so far which is awesome.
I’ve got avene cicalfate with moogoo for itchy days. Zeroveen for my whole body.

Hi @jululemon thanks for info how have u been managing ok with apetite and eating and drinking etc ? I dontcknow how pax affects that sort of thing it never bothered me on EC i could eat pretty much anything
@cazgib10 i had no appetite, nausea or sickness issues on paclitaxel. A little bit of acid reflux in last few weeks but omneprazole has dealt with that. And no bowel issues. It’s been very benign in that sense.

Giving me some hope. Im feeling very nervous about my first paclitaxel tomorrow. It’s a 8.15am start a 3 hour infusion meaning 5 hours of cold capping

Honestly it didn’t feel like that long. I cold capped and it was a long day but I had downloaded lots to watch, had some games on my phone and snacks to distract me. It’s only 20 hours over 8 weeks - you can do it

Hi ladies I just had my last paclitaxel so no more chemo for me!!! I’ve had minimal symptoms through paclitaxel and felt much more like myself, more energy in general, have taken none of the drugs I took on EC…so all round much better. Good luck to all those starting their taxols xx
My PAC tips/what I’ve used:
Day 1 red face/hot flush from steroid lasted the full day.
Day 3/4 slight body ache/bone pains without the any filgastrim injection (with it I had bad bone pains managed with painkillers)
Day 5 onwards, pretty much normal and no symptoms except the off day of fatigue.
No skin rash, nails all good, slight peeling of skin on a couple of toes but nothing terrible. Minimal to tingling in toes which lasted a couple of days.
I stopped cold capping with paclitaxel, used compressions socks and gloves. Used Cetreben as my moisturizer throughout treatment, been using polybalm on my nails and have also used coconut oil every day on my feet and hands since starting Paclitaxel. Otherwise nothing else! Lots of walking and yoga!

@cazgib10 yes food all totally fine and I haven’t taken any anti sickness.
@foxgem best of luck!
Lots more energy so far on pax! Though now have rash and very itchy extremities (woken me!) so may need to call about that!
I’ve had no injections on pax so hope that’ll be the same for you @foxgem.
