Hi everyone. I originally had a Micap flap reconstruction but, because we can’t get clear margins after further surgery and axillary node clearance, I’ve now got to have mastectomy after chemo. My concern is that my surgeon has already taken quite a lot of skin to fill the defect first time round, and I have a hefty scar up the side of my boob, and I’m really worried about where she’s going to get sufficient skin from to close the mastectomy excision. Has anyone had anything similar, and is the outcome ok? Thanks**
Hi I had to have implant removed and debridement he did neat job if I want reconstruction they can use skin from tummy , I have declined I’m happy being flat and using prosthesis x

Yer, I’m going flat as, at the moment, I can’t face an eight hour surgery and three months recovery! I guess, once all the boob is gone, there will be enough skin - just that my previous surgery has used up a fair bit already. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got plenty, just maybe not quite where it’s needed!!!
Hi you will be surprised how neat it will be and how much skin is there to work with I thought same as you wouldn’t be enough skin to close but I was fine , good luck xx
