My mum has just had a single mastectomy and is very busty. She is a 36H. I have been trying to take some of the pressure off her by looking for bras for her, but it is proving almost impossible! There seems to be plenty of mastectomy bras up to say a DD, but I just can’t find anything that is suitable for my gorgeous mum in an H cup.
Ideally she would like some functional everyday ones and also one for making her feel pretty/sexy when she is getting dressed up for the night. They should be soft cup, not underwired.
She only had her mastectomy 2 weeks ago and has a long journey ahead, but we all love her and want to make the journey as smooth as possible.
If anyone can help, I would be most grateful. Or if you are having the same problem then I would love to hear your views too.
I thought it might be helpful to post information on BCC’s Lingerie Evenings.
Best wishes,
Anna BCC Facilitator
Searching for suitable bras and lingerie after breast surgery can be a frustrating and difficult experience. Breast Cancer Care’s lingerie evenings help take the stress out of shopping for such items, providing you with tips and guidance on what works well for you, all in a welcoming and friendly environment.
Breast Cancer Care staff are also available to chat through concerns and feelings about body image following surgery.
Lingerie evenings are for women who have had breast surgery and are looking for support and advice to find bras and lingerie that are right for them, at any stage following surgery. They last around two and a half hours and you will usually be in a group of around 20 women.
We’ve got sessions coming up in Newcastle, Chichester, Liverpool and Glasgow.
Hi,
I’m not sure what size they go up to but M&S make nice post surgery bras Have a look on the website. I can also reccomend Women zone in culcheth near warrington again they have a website. The girls are really helpful they also make their own swimwear, I had a costume made for £40 and got loads of compliments on holiday.
Happy hunting!

Hi try Royce or Anita bras available from Eloise or Nicola Jane these companies also sell ‘pockets’ that you can sew into any full cup bras, Bravissimo or Simply B sell a variety of larger cups that can be adapted. M@S definatly do a G cup not sure if they go larger. Hope this helps
