I just wanted to ask about advice on any good moisturisers that anyone has used for mastectomy scars. I had my mastectomy almost a year ago, I have used different moisturisers. I’ve noticed now that on my chest wall it feels hard and lumpy. I think this is just scar tissue so I’m not panicking. Would be great to here from anyone with advice on this. Xx
Not sure about how it helps for lumpiness, but I’ve been using either basic Aveeno cream, La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume or Moo Goo Milk Cream on the entire mastectomy area and my arm with the lymph nodes removed.
My physio recommended Alhydran cream for the scar - it’s expensive for a tiny tube so I use it just on the scar. Physios can be good at assessing for scar tissue too, if you wanted someone to look.
I use Rescue Remedy cream, which also helps with the discomfort and pulling sensation. You have to buy Rescue online because Boots don’t stock it any more. I smear it across the whole section of my non-boob.
