I had DIEP Flap surgery and in the forums I am in, there are many who have this done for one breast as well. Have you looked into that? I live in AR but had it done at the St. Charles Surgical Hospital - New Orleans - Center For Restorative Breast Surgery. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have from my personal experience.
I hope you find what works for YOU!!! Good luck.
Hi @sgruning
Thanks for your reply I have not but it’s something I can discuss with my surgeon
Thank you x
Hi Charlottebee , I had a right mastopexy just over 8 weeks, after undergoing a left mastectomy with implant reconstruction in November 2023.
Compared to the surgery in 2023, the mastopexy was a much easier and quicker surgery to recover from, no drains, I suffered very little pain and hardly had to take any pain relief post surgery, no drains and I was back to work in a week, just being mindful of not lifting anything heavy. I am also happy with the results in that it has helped achieve more symmetry.
If I can help with anything else please reach out.
Thank you so much @crazycapricorn79
Has put my mind at rest , especially after my failed implant I do trust my surgeon but it’s nice to hear from somebody who has had the surgery , be great to have a smaller prosthesis as in the summer it was so heavy and hot , the bonus is no drains . Thank you again and will let you know how I get on surgery is in February x
