Morning…I don’t post on here often but read what is happening and find all your info very helpful…so thought I would share something else to look out for…yesterday morning my treatment arm was more painful than usual some bruising had appeared on forearm and a swelling in the inside of my elbow no redness but sore to touch…temperature ok phoned and they told me to go in to hospital for check…it turns out to be a blood clot in superficial vein not a dvt thank goodness …so now on blood thinning injections also although junior doctor didn’t think it was anything consultant just felt my arm and knew and confirmed with ultrasound…next treatment wed my first ‘T’ so worried enough about that and got an appointment for Picc line to be put in tomorrow as veins were a problem last time…so not sure if that will go ahead will have to phone and try to speak to someone today…I just find all this worry and constantly checking se and changes in body so hard sometimes as I know we all do…all the best to everyone dealing with se and treatments this week x

I just have Onco appmt on Friday ahead of 2nd T on 3rd Aug. Looking forward to 10 good days before next poisoning.

Hi Katie. I’m having my 5th FEC on Wed. Unlike most who have swapped regime half way through, I’m having FEC for all 6 cycles. Still feel ok though and managing to work ful time and get out for long walks - I have definitely got off very lightly compared to some for SEs. Fingers crossed this one goes ahead. After this, as I’m so close to finishing chemo I’m going to have to start researching radiotherapy (23 doses) and tamoxifen (min 5 years). I’ve been asked to go on a clinical trial into the effects of aspirin on reducing recurrance rates after radiotherapy has finished as well… More research to do.
Has anyone else been approached to take part in any trials?

Curly thanks for sharing, how long after treatment did you notice ? Interesting that this happened without a picc line. I know we are at greater risk of clots but we don’t seem to have been warned what to look out for. Sending hugs.
Kala hi I am on docetaxel, herceptin, perjeta and carboplatin. Have now done 4 cycles. Perjeta caused acne ?.
And I get aches day 4 to 10.
Please rest and look after yourself. You will get through this.
As we are not having a proper holiday this summer we are doing family fun days instead. Starting today with the seven valley railway.

Thanks Jay. I have had 3 FEC and start on your concoction on Friday. Was feeling apprehensive til read your blog. Have heart scan Thursday and they have warned me will be there 6-8 hours. My best friend coming with me. Travelling 120 miles to do so. 
Thanks Treehouse…hope you enjoyed your train ride…I noticed the swelling on day 19 after 3rd fec…did not expect it so long after treatment on the ‘good’ days!! I suppose it can happen anytime…still have to go to Picc line appointment tomorrow and discuss what will be best will have to be brave?
Hi Girls, firstly I need 2 thank you all for the neutrophils dances you’ve been doing for me over the last few days they worked a treat my blood test was good today and treatment when ahead ??
It was a long day having 2 have the blood test first and waiting for the results before treatment started and then because no picc Line having 2 have my hand set up again but I had my hand in some hot wather for a while and this helped.
So 1st Docetaxol has gone in here’s hoping that it won’t be so bad over the next few days. Right now I feel fine very well in fact and relieved that my blood was ok and the treatment completed, very tired but feeling good ? ??
Thanks Jay. Have the feel good makeover tomorrow to look fwd to . How many Herceptin do y have to have? Ive been told 18. The next with the new chemo. Then picc line should cone out abd herceptin injected in leg I think? X

Curlyh, sorry about your clot it’s a real worry did my head in with panic when I found out about mine. How are you getting on with the injections I’ve been doing mine for almost two weeks now and still struggle but I am becoming faster and less hesitant. I think I’ll be having them for quite some time. My GP called me today because he had my repeat prescription for the injections. I asked him how much at risk am I from the blood clot (he did refer to mine as dvt although I don’t believe so far I’ve ever been officially told?? He said that now treated with the injection it is relatively safe it will stop it moving to lungs but be aware of any chest pains and signs of hard breathing if any signs get straight to a&e but it shouldn’t happen just be very aware. Xx
