Hi all,
A maybe random request - but I am trying to get my diet even healthier (mostly whole food, plant based, and aligned with WCRF recommendations) but at the same time I am about to start chemo and some friends have kindly offered to pay for meal delivery services like ‘Cook’ ‘Simmer Eats’ ‘Mindful Chef’ ‘Planthood’ etc. Has anyone looked into which of these meal services are good for use during chemo and still vaguely healthy? Priorities for me are a) very high vegetable content b) fibre - to help manage constipation c) wholegrains rather than white carbs d) no additives or preservatives e) no ultra processed foods. Ideally with a decent amount of protein too (animal based is OK, but not too much red meat).
Any thoughts or experience?
Thanks so much!
I haven’t researched how healthy they are but have used some of the Cook range and they are delicious - and useful to have in freezer when you don’t feel like cooking .
I am usually keen on all the things you said , high fibre, plant based etc but have to admit on the days after my chemo I often opt for rice pudding as my go to meal
I have found smoothies a good way to get the good stuff in a way that I can face . I have stocked up my freezer with my homemade smoothies ready for my next round on Tuesday - already made means I am not tempted by white carbs.
