Hi Patsy,
I think unless you go neutrpaenic (no immunity) then you shouldn’t worry anymore than normal. My partner got a similar thing and we rang the hospital to check whether we should keep an eye on things. However, I was off my chemo by then. If you get any temperature above 37.5 degrees - ring or go to the hospital immediately as it usually means your immunity is compromised.

Hello,
First thing to add here is that you can’t help coming in to contact with infections from close family. With measles a person is contagious before you really know what is wrong with them, so unfortunately there is not much you can do to stop yourself from being exposed to this infection.
Also I appreciate that your little girl wants her mum, and that you want to care for her.
You have done the right thing by contacting your hospital team and it will help to take your temperature regularly as often the temperature can go up before we feel unwell. Having said this if you do feel unwell, call your hospital team again, I am not sure if you can call your team anytime, but if not call your GP if out of hours.
It is most likely that you will not get measles, but if you do your team may want to treat you with antibiotics, this maybe different from your daughters care, but this will be because you are being treated for breast cancer

Hi Patsy,
Just to say i came into contact with chicken pox while on chemo and was told that although chemo reduces your ability to fight off infection it dosn’t kill off antibodies (hope I’ve got that right as I’m not very medical). In other words if you’ve had measles or the measles jab you should still have antibodies to prevent you getting it. If in doupt check with your medical team and if your temp goes up ring their help line. Hope your daughter is feeling better
cheers

It is possible to get measles even when vaccinated against it (my son caught measles age 2), but the vaccination prevents it from being as serious and prevents the complications. None of us caught measles when our son did - our antibodies seemed to do the job and I really hope they work for you
All the best
