Meditation for Lent

Meditation for Lent

Meditation for Lent Just found this in one on mothers magazine…how true it is or should be…

Fast from cynicism; Feast on hope
Fast from criticism; feast on praise
Fast from self-pity, feast on joy
Fast from bitterness; feast on forgiveness
Fast from idle gossip; feast on prayerful silence
Fast from jealousy; feast on love
Fast from discouragement; feast on possibilities
Fast from complaining; feast on appreciation
Fast from selfishness; feast on service
Fast from fear; feast on faith
Fast on anger; feast on compassion
Fast from discontent; feast on compassion
Fast from discontent;feast on gratitude

Have a great day my good friends

Meditation Hi Elaine

I liked your meditation post and thought you might like this one which I found helpful even before i was diagnosed. It comes from Mother Teresa.

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realise it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfil it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
Mother Teresa

How true that is Hi Thistle,

That is a wonderful piece by mother Teresa, isn’t it strange that before BC I never really seemed to pick up on things such as the above. But now they seem to keep me sane, just accepting each day as it comes and be grateful for each day and the second chance I have been given…Some days I am very down, but copy all sayings that I come across and paste them to a special file on my computer which I look at when I am down…which as been quite a bit just lately.

Have a good day.

These are very inspiring words.

I am not religious, but I have a former neighbour who is a devout Christian. She goes to a prayer group where they say a few words for me; they have my photo pinned up so they can focus. I have found this a great comfort and it helps my well being so I am very appreciative.
