Meningioma and other symptoms... fearing the worst

Hi All, I’m 58 and just completed my main treatments for her2 positive BC (Chemo, radiotherapy, herceptin x 9 and first bone infusion). On the eve of my first bone infusion, my right eye swelled up and I was admitted. After a CT scan, I was told that my cancer had spread to my brain as they could see a tumour. I was devastated. However, an MRI the next day showed a different view. They now think my eye is coincidental and the brain finding is a meningioma and incidental and could have been there for years. I am having another MRI mid Sept to see if there has been any growth. I am now experiencing very light, watery blood from my vagina (and blood in mucus from my rectum 2 weeks ago). I’m terrified. I’ve just come back from 2 week holiday so GP appointment made but fearing the worst. It’s been such a horrible year. Any thoughts?

Hi sarahc_123,

Thank you for your post

It sounds like you are having a difficult time. You might find it helpful to talk through how you are feeling with your breast care nurse or treatment team. They can refer you for psychological support or signpost you for local support services. You can also self-refer for counselling support with Macmillan via Bupa.

It is understandable to feel terrified about the light watery bleeding you have been experiencing from your vagina as well as the bloody mucus from your rectum. There are many reasons why this can occur, it could be unrelated to your breast cancer diagnosis. However, as you have booked an appointment with your GP, they can assess the cause for this. You can also let your treatment team know about this
