Menopause symptoms at 31

Hi guys
Well this week iv been diagnosed again for the 3ed year running with breast cancer. As soon as I reach my 12 month mark it comes back… iv had a double mastectomy Radiothreapy and I started tomoxifen but had to stop as I really did struggle with the side effects… what I am working now is I need to have hormones blocking therapy witch they are going to do via injection… I’m just so scared of having all the changes of the menopause… I have no one my age to talk to to see how hey are getting on and I’m finding it quite scary… I haven’t started yet as iv just had an operation to removed the new cancer that had appeared… my cancer is hormone positive so I really have no other choice then to bite he bullet and give myself the best chance… I just find mentally it is a massive struggle… any advice would be fab  thank you xx

Hi Kathryn,
Oh goodness, sorry to hear you’re facing it again & obviously, you will do what you need to do.
I’m not in your position, as I was peri-menopausal at diagnosis, but there are certainly others here who’ve had to go through this.
Hopefully, one of the other ladies will be along to share experiences. It might also be worth ringing the helpline here or emailing bcc about the ‘someone like me service’ to talk to others who’ve been through similar.
Wishing you well with it all & do come & chat or vent whenever you need to.
Sending hugs

Hi Kathryn
So sorry to read of your reaccurance. I cant imagine how stressful that is for you.
I have zoladex injections monthly. Is that the same thing? Plus letrozole. If so, side effects are minimal. Some hot flushes, achy joints etc. Its a gradual process. I was offered ovary removal and that does put you straight into menopause… I’m not ready for that!
