Message for Daisies Hi Jean

Thank you for reading my “Ineresting Question” topic. When I read your reply I looked at your profile and you said you were having rib pain and due a bone scan in APril? I too have some rib pain on and off and I was just wondering if your scan was OK and what they said?

Love Alise

Reply for Alise Hi Alise,
Had bone scan about six weeks ago, went for results two weeks later - when rib pain had eased a little. Saw surgeon who carried out my mastectomy for my results (not my onc as I had expected!) and he hadn’t discussed the results with ‘his team’, but said there ‘was some activity in ribs 6 & 7’, but they couldn’t be sure what it was. Also had a chest xray on day of results. Said best have another bone scan in a couple of months. But received a letter last week to say chest xray was clear, and that maybe the bone scan had been misleading, so now they plan another scan in 3 mionths time. So fingers crossed it was just the result of some really strenuous work I had been doing like dragging a half barrel out of my car, and taking umpteen black bags of rubbish to tip for my daughter amongst other things - silly I know - have learnt my lesson now! Must say pain has almost gone now.

Have you mentioned your rib pain to GP or onc? Best to get it checked out, know it’s scary having scans, etc, but at least we know they are keeping their eyes on us!

Best of luck anyway,

Love and hugs, Jean xx

Similar to me? Hi Jean

I noticed you live in the North - did you go to Christies ? You also seem to have had a similar diagnosis as me - did they persuade you to have chemo even though it was grade 2 stage 1? Did they give you all the 90% + survival rate thing to try and cheer you up!!?

I am REALLY struggling on these tamoxifen and as onc said I probably didn’t really need them (I dont like the probably word)! I must say when I next go I am considering coming off them before I turn into a fat depressed heffalump permanently.!
