Hi Kelly,
Hope you dont mind me pestering you again. I have had my last EPI today (thank goodness) so now officially half way. I was a bit upset at chemo ward as without warning my oncologist has left, he was really approachable and understanding and I could ask him anything. Anyway, I saw a new one, he was very nice but as you know I go to CMF now and he has told me that the neulasta injection I have been having wont be given with the CMF, where my previous oncologist said I would get it after each cycle. I am a little worried because I was quite ill when I did not have it for the first treatment (Neutropenic and hospitalised). I have read some of your posts and note that you did not get it either is this the normal procedure? I have not had any problem with blood counts while I have been having it. I was also told that I would have CAT scan at the half way point but he told me today this is not necessary either. Feel a bit confused, one says one thing and then it changes. hope you dont mind me asking you again. Hope you are OK and your planning day for rads go well.
Thanks
Love

Hi Jillian,

apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I’m normally on here several times a day but have been so busy I’ve not had a moment to log on! Busy doing house stuff that is, nothing interesting! LOL!! CONGRATS on finishing the Epi, thats great news!! Onwards and upwards now, CMF is much kinder!

As you’ve already mentioned I stopped having the Neulasta once I switched to CMF. This worried me a little at first, although I knew it was totally standard practice. My bloods had always been awesome and I did wonder how much of that was down to the GCSF, however I needn’t have worried as my bloods remained great throughout CMF too.

I had no scans at the half way point, although I guess this was as I had already had my surgery. It is a shame that every Dr seems to have a totally different way of doing things and completely different protocols, even at the same hosp!! Its now wonder you are feeling confused!

Take care and I hope that helps a little. Give me a shout if you need to know anything else.

Kelly

HI Kelly,
Thanks you for your reassuring advice. Not as worried now that you have told me that your bloods were fine, hopefully I will be the same, and as you say the CMF is kinder so fingers crossed. Read on your other post that you have been house hunting, so good luck with that. Speak soon and thanks alot.
Love Jillianxx

Hi Jillian,

no worries at all, I’m happy to be able to help. CMF really is much much nicer than Epi, I’m sure you will find this to be the case too. Do keep in touch and let me know how you get on,

Thanks for the good luck wishes for the house, I’ve got everything crossed right now I can tell you!!

Take care,

Kelly
