To all cancer fighters,
Here is my story…I was diagnosed with MBC in September 2021. It is in my breasts, lungs, 2 ribs, 3 thoracic vertebrae, right hip, and pelvic bone. The lungs tipped doctor off to the cancer with a lung X-ray and ct scan. I could hardly breath walking 1 block. oncologist put me on Letrolzole right away and in January I started Ibrance. During the last week of 2nd round of Ibrance I had antibiotics for a sinus infection. That elevated my liver numbers way up to the point of delaying my next round of Ibrance. They are still a little elevated but started on Ibrance again last week Wednesday. Now my blood pressure is very low and giving me problems. I have no way to gauge how I am doing overall against the cancer right now. I also have CHF from a heart attack in 2018. I am extremely tired since last March. Does anyone else experience constant exhaustion all the time with similar MBC? Any advice is very welcome. Hard for me to live with. I was used to walking 1-2 miles a day. Now it is a challenge to make 5000 steps a day. I look forward to any input!
Welcome to the forum !! I’m so sorry you are having a tough time with so many issues at the moment , must be very hard to gauge how your treatment is going amongst it all .
I don’t have metastatic breast cancer but just responding so hopefully someone who does will see your post and share their experiences of ibrance . Hoping you respond well once you get over these hurdles
I’ve got it in all the same places as you except its my left hip and am also suffering exhaustion. I just go to bed for a couple of hours every afternoon and its still a struggle to stay awake in the evening. I put it down to my blood counts being low due to the treatment.
I was just DX with Bone Mets in my sacrum and possibly pelvis. Only reason they found it was because my tumor markers were high. I however had noticed being more fatigue than normal. I took two naps yesterday. LOL So I would have to say yes exhaustion must be normal. See my Dr. Tuesday and will hopefully start treatment soon.
Hi
You seem to have had a very rough ride. I suffer from extreme fatigue some days and then fatigue all other days. I’m on capecitabine two weeks on, one week off (no, it gets worse for the first few days so it’s NOT a break!). I’m lucky if I clock up 500 steps a day. I often find just the simple task of drying my hair or dressing leaves me breathless, with my back aching, so I have to rest! Some days I can barely get out of bed. Chemo-induced fatigue is unique. I feel like an M&S ad “It’s not just tired, it’s chemo tired.” So I’m afraid I can’t offer advice. I’ve chosen to accept it and adapt - at least the drug is controlling my cancer for now, for which I’m grateful. I do wish I could go for a swim though…
