Microblading eyebrows

Hi, I start chemotherapy on the 25th March but wanted to have my eyebrows micro bladed - when is the cut off date before chemo to do it? Am I too late already? Thanks for any advice

Hi @mlp74
I’m starting chemotherapy 27th of March and was thinking the same, is it too late.
Hopefully it’s not xx

Hi I enquired about this and the beautician I spoke to said it had to be 8 weeks before so they can do the top up and it can heal. Sorry :pensive: I left mine too late to do

Hi mlp74

Thanks for posting.

Microblading for eyebrows has become very popular recently. However, as it is a form of tattooing it’s important for people having chemotherapy to have it done at the right time.

There are a number of threads here on the Breast Cancer Now forum about microblading where people have shared their experience of having this done and the information they’ve been given on when to do this. You can read these by using the term ‘microblading’ in the search facility in the top right of the forum home web page.

Most people are told to have the initial microblading done before they start chemotherapy to avoid having it done at a time when they are at an increased risk of infection during treatment. Cancer Hair Care have some helpful information on microblading which has similar guidance.

Since you are due to start treatment on 25th March, it would be a good idea to check with your treatment team as soon as possible on their advice about this.
