I’ve decided to have my eyebrows microbladed as they are definitely thinning now. I finished chemo 2 weeks ago. My oncologist said I need to wait 6 to 8 weeks after chemo but I forgot to ask about herceptin or radiotherapy… Is it okay to have them done whilst still on herceptin/radio?
Any help appreciated! Thank you.
I think the herceptin and radiotherapy don’t have the same immunosuppresent effect that they worry about with the chemo. Personally I’d have said should be fine.
I’d just want to check that the practitioner, blades etc were scrupulously clean

Thank you! The lady I am going to has won so many awards and is highly sought after. She went through all her safety procedures with me too so I feel happy… I just hope I like them as I’m normally very low maintenance. I’ve never even had my nails done at 58!
On Herceptin there is a risk of low white blood cells causing immune suppression. I am on 11/18 Herceptin and was eligible for the shingles ( had two injections 8 weeks apart instead of usual 26 weeks) and Covid vaccine for immune suppressed. I finished chemo in December.
First side effect increased risk of infection.
On another thread for a chemo group someone was told by the eyebrow technician and oncologist to wait a year for micro blading.
I would double check with your team.

Thank you! I have doubled checked with my oncologist and she said 6 to 8 weeks, knowing that I am on herceptin until the end of June… The microblade lady said the same. I’ve not heard of a year! That’s a year with no eyebrows!! I’m not having any more Covid injections as I ended up in hospital with a very fast heart rate (175 bpm) after the second one. I don’t trust it. I will double check but keen to get this done sooner as I have a couple of weddings this summer and feel very self-conscious already. Thank you for responding. xx

Glad you double checked with your team. As always each team, each trust seems to offer different advice. The person I mentioned is based in Ireland.
Luckily BCN works with many trusts to ensure some consistency in treatment, care, support and information.
Hope you’ll be pleased with your new eyebrows.
