Microdochectomy

Im having a microdochectomy on Christmas eve and was ok about it till i read things on line I am prone to cysts have had them all over they thought I had the start of cervical cancer two years ago but was sent home with cin 1 and have routine smear tests and now I have a cyst in my right breast and have been producing milk for years well 11 to be precise and it hasn’t stopped since my youngest was born 6 years ago but as it changed to an olive green colour I’m having this operation I’m scared beyond belief . My friend just came outof a very aggressive form of breast cancer and help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated I know they have not diagnosed any cancer and I’m sorry if you find my post offensive

Hi

I had a microduchetomy in June. I had found a lump just beneath my nipple and the breast doc also noticed some discharge. Initially I had mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy which all came back clear. I was advised to have the microduchetomy to make it 100 percent certain that there was nothing there.

The procedure itself is quite straightforward, day surgery and I just took the following day off work too.

Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

Hi Mary

Did they find anything after the procedure? I’m having a microdochectomy in three weeks after two years of on/off bloody discharge from one duct. Nothing has ever been picked up in ultrasounds (aside from a dilated duct which is the one they are removing) and they’ve tested the discharge on slides and it’s come back clear too. I’m just anxious something can be picked up in a microdochectomy.

Rach I hope everything went well for you x
