Hi skyesummer
Thanks for posting. It’s understandable you are concerned and it can be worrying noticing changes in your breast, but it’s good to hear the ultrasound you had in May was fine.
Breast changes can happen for many reasons. They may be part of normal development, hormonal changes as part of your monthly cycle (period) or due to benign conditions (not cancer). Although you are not having periods due to contraception, your breasts will still undergo hormonal changes. You’ll probably find your breasts change quite a bit throughout your life.
It may help you to know that getting breast cancer in your teens is very rare so the changes you have noticed are much more likely to be because of one of the reasons mentioned above rather than cancer.
Breast pain is very common in women of all ages as you have been told. It can have several causes, which our information explains. Applying ibuprofen gel as you have been advised can help, as well as making sure you are wearing a well fitting and supportive bra.
As you have found a change that is new since your previous ultrasound, you may find it reassuring to make another appointment with your GP to have this checked.
