Morning all.
I’m uk based and I was diagnosed in feb with oestrogen positive breast cancer. The tumour was 4cm, I had a mastectomy and full lymph node clearance and the cancer was in 12 out if 21. I’ve had 4 doses of EC and 2 doses of paclitaxel at 100%, 1 at 80% and due to have a 4th at 50% due to neuropathy in my toes on one foot. It’s not painful, just numb in 3-4 toes. It was in my finger tips but this has eased off. I’ve had the chemo over a 2 week regime.
I’m anxious that I’ve had an 80% dose let alone 50% but it’s likely the last dose won’t happen. I’m due to have radiotherapy and then medication, one hormone blocker and another for 2 years CDK4/6 I think.
Has anyone missed the last dose of chemo? Psychologically I don’t think it’s helping and I’m so worried about reoccurrence.
Thank you all
I was scheduled to have 12 weekly paclitaxel in 2022 for primary tnbc, following 4 cycles of EC. I missed weeks 2 and 3 because I developed a nasty infection and was hospitalised. I then had a dose reduction for the final 3 due to PN. I had a scan during the hospital stay. Results got very delayed, but revealed the unexpected finding of a liver secondary. This wasn’t a recurrence but a missed de novo metastatic situation. As my cancer is tnbc I had further tests that established I was eligible for immunotherapy. This has to be served up with paclitaxel, so off I went again. The PN had just about cleared up from the first lot, but came back. I still have it 3 years later and it’s not a lot of fun. I understand the drugs you have been offered are very effective for your type of cancer so please try not to worry.
