Sorry to annoy you again. Mammogram is clear but two swollen nodes were found under the arm.
Biopsy was taken. Worried what the outcome will be.
Hi @spring25,
Thank you for posting.
It’s good to hear your mammogram was clear and understandable you are worried about the result of the lymph node biopsy. Waiting for results can be a very stressful time. Some people say waiting for results is the most worrying part of the whole process, whatever the outcome is. We often find we can help people more by speaking to them on the phone. If you would like to talk this through you can call us on our helpline.
It’s not clear if you have an appointment date to get the result. If you don’t know how you’ll be getting your results, you can ask the hospital. This may be by contacting the surgeon’s secretary or the breast unit.
If you’re given an appointment, it may be a good idea to have someone with you when you go. That way you can be sure there’s someone there for support, should you need it. They may also think of questions that hadn’t occurred to you and remember things you may forget.
We all cope differently in times of stress. Some people cope by keeping busy or distracting themselves. Others use calming breathing exercises or mindfulness and relaxation.
As mentioned above do call our helpline if you would like to talk this through or have any further questions. The helpline team have time to listen, talk things through and signpost you to additional support and information if necessary. Your call will be confidential, and the number is free from UK landlines and all mobile networks.
The number is 0808 800 6000. If you have hearing or speech difficulties prefix our number with 18001 and the call will go through Relay UK. Our helpline has access to telephone interpreters if language translation is required.
