more than one lump - help!

Hello again

I was told after the first visit to the clinic that I had one lump and I was waiting for the clinic to have the MDT meeting and to contact me about treatment. Instead a breast care nurse phoned me tonight (a week after inititial diagnosis) and has told me they have now seen a second lump on the imaging which they didn’t pick up a week ago. They now want me to go in for second biopsy on new lump which means waiting at least another 10 days for result of this biopsy. They haven’t told me any info about the first lump yet and as I was just told over the phone at the end of the day there was no one able to answer any questions. The consultant is on holiday and I am left feeling in limbo and terrified for at least 2 more weeks. Why didn’t they pick up the second lump at the time they saw the first on the images from mamogram and ultrasound. Has anyone got any advice. What are the implications of a second lump?

Sorry to hear that you are still waiting for the results of your first lump and now you are faced with tests on a second. The waiting period is horrendous. Do you have a date for the biopsy on the 2nd lump or are they going to make you wait til the consultant is back from his holiday?

I would advise contacting the BCnurse and tell her how worried you are - they are usually very good and will do whatever they can to get you information if they can.
