More Waiting :(

Hi

First post.

My Wife was diagnosed with primary breast cancer and was due to have a double mastectomy with lymph node involvement.

The operation was cancelled due to CT scan results showing something on her Liver.

We went for an MRI scan to check what was on the Liver and were due to get the results today.

Phone call from the lead nurse today to say the results are not ready untill next Thursday.

Another week of no treatment and stressful waiting.

We thought time was critical when dealing with Cancer.

Why do we have to wait so long?

Six weeks without ANY treatment is just NOT fair.

Hi Larry,

Welcome to the BCC Forum.  As you said the waiting is very stressful.  While you are waiting for some replies from other members you might also find it helpful to give our Helpline a call to talk things over.  They will be able to offer you information and support.  The opening times are 9-5 on weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays.  The number is 0808 800 6000

Very best wishes

Hello

Update on my previous post.

Great news :smileyvery-happy: !

We had a phone call early this morning to come in to see the surgeon to talk about the MRI scan of the Liver. It’s cysts NOT cancer!!!

Now the double Mastectomy can go ahead, this Saturday!

How strange is it to actually WANT that operation.

Still the waiting is almost unbearable.

What an awful roller coaster Cancer is.

Good luck to all.

Larry

Hi Larry,

The waiting game is so stressful. Glad the plan is coming together now. Fingers crossed for a swift post op recovery for your wife.

Be kind to yourselfs over these next few weeks, each listening to your inner voices. Rest well, eat well, take offers of help.

Best wishes

Hi Larry,

the waiting is the worst part sometimes!

My mum had breast cancer back in 2012 and has just been diagnosed with secondary cancer. The C word is so unfair.

So pleased to hear that your wife’s results came back as cysts… I can imagine your delight at those results!

My mum is currently on meds for her secondary cancer and has her first follow up appointment on Thursday… so we are in waitng mode again… afraid to think of the outcome.

How is your wife doing now Larry?
