Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Do we have any special plans for spending Mother’s Day with your OH, your family or friends? If you are a Mom by yourself, what you planning to do to give yourself a treat?

It could be a walk outside, a day of NOT washing clothes, or just a day to remember how we got to this place. For each of you, Mom or not, just want you to know how I am enjoying this Forum and your openness.

So…plans???

Mary-
Ahhhhhh… virtual hug…I was beginning to wonder if I was in the wrong place. The intention is good but sometimes the words don’t flow out correctly and then there is the cultural difference. Then I figured, we are living with BREAST CANCER, and talking about the most intimate things we would never talk about to another person. Black nails. Constipation. Hair loss. Geez, a few misplaced words really shouldn’t make that much difference. Besides, if nothing else, cancer has taught me to look at what is important.

…and that means being here with all you wonderful women.

xxx ooo too

Emily, my op was the day before Mother’s Day, so I rang mine from hospital and later she drove my sister mad on her visit, saying the call had ‘made her day’! I’d taken a gorgeous hanging basket of flowers the week before, and told her about the dx then - she’s 87, I really didn’t want to worry her. My kids all came to visit in hospital, with their father, who is still my best friend though we split 10 years ago… it was our 20th anniversary the day of my mastectomy, not how I’d ever expected to spend it! Ah well, memorable for an unusual reason!

…And it’s super to have some input from you so far away… I wonder if many British women subscribe to the US forum?

Lyn-
well, it may have been a different sort of Mothers day but how nice that you were all together, ex too. I have always thought that it was strange how one could live with a man for so long, grow up together, then all of a sudden not talk. Good for you.

good question re the US forums…you can always go spy and see!!!
