Moving county

May be an odd question, but ive moved out with my fiance this year about 35-40 minutes away from where I was originally diagnosed and had treatment. (Im now in a different county)

Am I allowed to stay at the same hospital? Or do I have to go to my new catchment hospital?

As I know my breast clinic said I can still go to them for 5 years and I think I have cording AGAIN but just want to be sure its nothing else. I have had lymphnodes removed and axillary clearance.

Hi KirstieF,

Thanks for posting and it’s not an odd question.

You can continue with your current hospital or transfer for your care to the hospital nearest to you. Your choices in the NHS information might be helpful.

Most people have open access follow up after their hospital treatment for breast cancer for 5 Years as you mention. You may want to transfer your care closer to home in case you do need to see your treatment team. However, some people prefer to stay with their original team even if its further away as they have developed relationships and confidence with that team.

As you have a symptom that may be cording do contact your current team. You can also explain that you have now moved and discuss your follow up options with them.
